How to drive more website traffic from Instagram – 7 ways to do it!

If you can learn how to drive traffic from Instagram onto your website, it is one of the best marketing tactics for your brand.

With the right strategy in place, you can drive traffic straight to your website, podcasts or blog posts.

Despite not being able to click directly on posts or reels, there are plenty of ways to get your audience

We’re sharing 7 tips on how to drive traffic from Instagram to your channels:

Create a Link in Bio Tool to create a mini directory for your profile.

It is slightly frustrating that Posts/Reels aren’t clickable yet, but it does mean that you will get more eyes on all of your potential links including ones they’ve missed on previous posts. Fortunately, it is available for everyone to use and you are not limited by where you send your followers.

One tool you can use is the Linkin.Bio tool by Later.com where you can build a fully customisable page and a clickable version of your feed with the main channels you want to send people to.

Use Link Stickers on your Instagram Stories

Stories are a great way to get more eyes on your brand as not everyone will see everything on the feed.

A great way to drive more traffic if you are a business or creator account is to use link stickers on your stories to make it easier to direct people directly to the products. If you batch content and then add in the stickers when you post, it’ll be super easy instead of thinking of the spot and forgetting about an opportunity to direct traffic.

Save your most popular stories in a highlight

Whilst stories will disappear after 24 hours, you can extend the life of your most popular stories and give them more reach potential.

Take a look at which stories in your strategy will have the most potential for reuse ie. how to book/ faqs/ new product links

Group them into clear topics and keep updating them!

Make sure to include verbal and written CTAs to Reels

Reels are great to look at, but you need to be able to convert your audience.

Use clear calls to action that drives people to your link in bio.

How to do this? Use on-screen text, in your video captions, or verbally!

Partner with key influencers & ask them to use link stickers on the stories

Use who you are working with wisely. If you are already working with influencers then get them to include link in bios/ link stickers for your products and / or services as well.

It is easier to leverage someone else’s audience than grow an entirely new one, so make the most of it!

Set up Instagram Shopping

A super easy way for business accounts to help grow their website traffic is to set up instagram shopping. You can add as many products as you like and if you use instagram shop you can be featured on the instagram shopping tab so more potential customers can discover you.

Add action buttons to your profile

If you are a business then you can easily connect your audience to your website through action buttons on instagram. The feature drives conversions and traffic directly which is a great way to do it. Add buttons like Order food, Book now, Reserve and then connect one of Instagram’s integrations like Eventbrite to make things easier for your customers and keep them coming back.

With the right strategy and tactics, Instagram can be a massive traffic generator for your business. If you’d like to find out more about how we can help you transform your instagram strategy and drive more traffic to your website, book a free discovery call with Francesca below.
